Hello! Welcome to DT Dojo's Learning Studio, where you can immerse yourself in the fundamentals of design thinking with self-led courses, coaching, and conversations. Here, I’ll show you how to get around and to start learning right away.
Setting Up
When preparing to learn DT-Dojo-style, it’s important to be intentional about how you set yourself up and to cultivate a learner’s mindset. Here are a few things to keep in mind: schedule time, gather supplies, find space, get comfortable.
DT Story: Embrace
This is one of the most well known stories from the Stanford d.school as it clearly shows how design thinking works and illuminates the potential impact of taking a human-centered approach to innovation.
Session 2 of 5 . 39 min
DT Story: Adventure Series
This story illustrates how the practice of design thinking can lead to enterprise-scale innovation. Moreover, it reveals the power of designing not just products or services, but experiences as well.

A Different Kind of DT Story
As you become more familiar with the creative strategies and mindsets behind DT, you realize that they can be applied not just in business but also in life. To illustrate this point, I share a different kind of story (of one of my favorite design projects).
Session 4 of 5 . 37 min
The Path Forward
Congratulations! Today, we wrap up our introduction to design thinking by casting our eyes forward to get a sense of what the path might look like from here and by considering what specific next steps might be.
Session 5 of 5 . 42 min
Checkpoint 1
Congratulations on completing the Design Thinking Introduction! You’ve taken the first step on your learning journey and that’s worth celebrating. If you’d like a course completion certificate (you’ve earned it!), here’s how to get it.
Empathy-to-Define
We kickoff our first "mini design project" (dp1) today by (re)designing a daily ritual or routine to help take care of ourselves and/or be productive… a timely challenge for this opportune moment.
Session 1 of 5 . 25 min
Ideate-to-Visualize
Today, we continue our design challenge by shifting gears from “need-finding” to “solution-finding”. We run a DT-style brainstorm and rapidly visualize how a new daily routine might fit with our day.
Session 2 of 5 . 31 min
Prototype-to-Test
Building on our ideation and visualization work from yesterday, we dive right into rapid prototyping today. In doing so, we prepare ourselves to test our newly designed daily rituals and routines!
Session 3 of 5 . 39 min
Next Steps & Debrief
Congratulations! Today, we wrap up our “mini design challenge”, and consider how we might carry our projects forward. We close with a surprise and conduct a DT-style debrief on the overall experience.
Session 5 of 5 . 36 min
Checkpoint 2
Congratulations on completing the Design Project #1! You’ve taken another big step on your learning journey by practicing design thinking yourself on a real-world project. As before, if you’d like a course completion certificate acknowledging your progress, here’s how to get it.
Drawing Lines
While a simple line sounds easy enough, it’s deceptively difficult to sketch straight and confident lines that are in place and on target. So, we’ll dedicate this entire session to lines.
