Design Thinking Process
Here's the DT Process diagram that I introduced in Session 1 of the DT Introduction (and referred to in subsequent sessions). Note that it is a d.school-style 5-step creative process sketched DT-Dojo-style!
Desirable-Viable-Feasible
This is the diagram that I used at the end of Session 1 of the DT Intro to talk about the business value of design. When doing innovation work, design thinking helps you unlock value by solving for what’s desirable, viable, AND feasible.
Diverge-Converge
Here’s another way to visualize the DT Process that I shared in Session 2 of the DT Introduction. While it’s the same 5-step creative approach, this version illustrates how both divergent & convergent patterns of thinking are needed for innovation.
Reflect & Set Intent
This is the worksheet that we used in Session 5 of the DT Introduction (The Path Forward) during the reflection activity. The simple, yet profound prompts helps us be clear about our intent & motivations as it relates to learning design thinking.
Design Thinking Canvas
Here is the “design thinking canvas” worksheet that I shared (as a surprise gift!) in session 5 of Design Project #1. You can use it to run mini-design-cycles on everyday design challenges, all on one page! Hint: standard post-it notes fit perfectly in each of the boxes!
Design Thinking Guide
Over the course of Design Project #1, we worked through every step of the creative “process”. Though I didn’t share this guide during the sessions, I wanted to provide it here now as a reference for you. It provides a quick overview of the entire design thinking process, with practice tips every step of the way… all on one page!
DT-Style Letters
Here’s the first worksheet I shared (in Session #4 of Skills Bootcamp #1) that you can use as a letter-by-letter guide for the full alphabet as you develop your own personal DT-style "handwriting font!
DT-Style Numbers & Punctuation
This worksheet (also introduced in Session #4 of Skills Bootcamp #1) can be used as a reference and tracing guide for digits & punctuation as you work out the rest of your DT-Style character set.
DT-Style Letter Forms
If you feel you need a little extra support when doing your letter rep exercises in Session #5 of Skills Bootcamp #1, here are two worksheets (A-M & N-Z) that you can print out and use as during the session.
