7. Visualizing New Solutions

Innovator Studio . DT Methods . 26 min Primer

Learn how to use story-boarding as a light-weight prototyping technique to rapidly work out the solution details that matter in a human-centered, experiential way.

Story

This Primer includes a Stanford d.school project turned Silicon Valley Startup story that demonstrates the power of rapid prototyping and iterative testing.

Activity

Select 1-2 promising solution directions and rapidly visualize them as a storyboard. Envision how your new solution(s) shows up in the life of who you’re designing for as an experience. Consider the scenes (spaces & places), actors (stakeholders), and props (touchpoints, products/processes) required to move their new experience forward. Add visuals (sketches, or images) to bring your storyboard(s) to life!
